Pattern and color found in polished stone is our jumping-off point to explore a new way to needlepoint. Using thread as our paint, we will master some basic stitches, learn to mix colors in the needle, and design a one-of-a- kind stitched gem. Your needlepoint can be framed, finished and mounted, attached to a handmade book cover, or used to decorate a bag.

Two options for kits will be available at the beginning of class.

 Kit 1–$30, Stone Inspiration includes:

• Small polished stone for inspiration

• Canvas to complete 5” x 5” project

• Selection of threads

• Stitch diagrams

Kit 2–$15, Bring Your Own Inspiration includes:

 • Canvas to complete 5” x 5” project

• Selection of threads

• Stitch diagrams

• Practice canvas

• Needles

Bring your own source of inspiration in an object or photo. Natural or manmade, it doesn’t matter.
